My only complaint is the windows are not sound proof and I was kept up late with the thumping of a night club next door. I'm very happy here - after touring the countryside for a week, I'm glad to be back in this comfy hotel. The restaurants are excellent and the breakfast buffet will suit people from the US, Europe and Asia. They have the only microbrewery around on the premises and the beer is quite good.

They load you up with coupons for free beer, karaoke and food. It's a lot for Thailand, but that has more to do with the value of the dollar than anything. I'm paying 2,800 baht per night which is $87 US. Now I'm back and in the most basic room, which is honestly every bit as nice only smaller. My first stay they were oversold so they upgraded me to an executive suite - one of the nicest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Internet is free, there is a parking garage under the hotel. The rooms are large and very comfortable with great beds, excellent bath and nice woodwork. It is centrally located and looks like the tallest building in the city. The staff all speak at least a little English, most quite well, and they cater to international clients very well. They even want to push the elevator button for you, which is a bit over the top for me. The staff is excellent and there is someone every where you turn to help. It is extremely clean and well appointed. This hotel offers all I expect from Thai hospitality. Stay here if you absorb noise well( or make sure they give you a room on the FRONT of the hotel and preferably in the corner) and if you want friendly service but terrible food and a great size room ( albeit a bit decoratively 'tired' ) with very large bathroom with a shower that can fit three! I found my only peace and quiet came in the men's hairdressing shop where I had a 'quiet' haircut and associated work done to my drooping face after a bad night's sleep. So beware if you want a peaceful stay in Khon Kaen.do not stay here. Although moved to a corner room on the other side, and there are few of those, it still permeates somewhat and drives you nuts until 2am. The room shakes with the boom boom boom from the nearby or hotel discos. Maybe, we thought, that's why they give you a daily free voucher for a litre of delicious home brewed beer to make you so tanked up that you don't mind it! Then go to your room. No way to get away from the boom boom boom. Not in one restaurant ( and at last count there were 5 or 6) can you have a meal without blaring-in-your-ear band music from the nearby off key singer and accompanying musicians.even in the rather pricey Chinese restaurant on the floor above and in the coffee shop/lounge restaurant. But they are obviously aiming for the local gentry and teeny boppers, rather than the travel- weary guest. The beds are very comfortable and have the pillow choices famous with Accor ( although when you order extra ones you have to explain that to housekeeping!).

The rooms are large and have all the latest and modern amenities. And they give you many discount vouchers to make it even nicer. Maybe, we thought, that's why they give you a daily free voucher for a litre of delicious home brewed beer to make you so tanked up that you don't mind it!
